Aday Mara
Mara is a monstrous center prospect with impressive rim protection and passing feel. He moves well for a guy that's 7'3" barefoot, and dunked and blocked everything around the rim last season at Michigan. His feel as in the post is impressive, with soft touch on hooks and push shots from close range and effective fakes. Mara's passing is a standout skill and can add a unique element to a team's offense in the NBA. He will have to prove he can move his feet in space and also ramp up his minutes in the league, but his skillset at his size makes him a top-8 prospect in this class.
Strengths:
Effective shot blocker with elite size and strong timing.
Lob threat out of the dunker spot who finishes plays above the rim.
Strong footwork and moves in the post, shaking defenders with an array of fakes.
Impressive passing flashes out of the post and in the short roll, finding cutters and shooters with accurate reads.
Runs the floor well for a player his size.
Weaknesses:
Hasn’t shown the ability to stretch the floor as a jump shooter
Can be overly audacious as a passer, leading to a high turnover rate.
Would benefit from adding more strength to handle physicality against bigger, more experienced post players.
Will need to prove he can handle a larger workload, as he never played more than 22 minutes per game in college.
