Ben Saraf
Saraf is a guard with positional size and passing vision. He’s at his best when getting downhill out of pick and roll, driving the paint, and making passing reads off the dribble. Saraf has work to do in terms of becoming a more consistent shooter and impacting the game on the defensive end. He will also have to prove that he can consistently create advantages off the dribble against set defenses. With that being said, His statistical production has been impressive during Ratiopharm Ulm’s playoff run.
Strengths:
Confident pick-and-roll operator who can pass to the roll man and spray out to the shooter for assists.
Uses his size to drive at smaller defenders and finish in the paint.
Creative scorer in the mid-range area with pull-up jumpers, floaters, and runners.
Active in passing lanes and has solid hands to grab steals.
Weaknesses:
Inconsistent shooter from three-point range with slower mechanics and a slight lean to his shot.
Lacks quickness off the dribble which can lead to stalled driving attempts.
Could benefit from tightening his handle. Turns the ball over too much against ball pressure.
Room for improvement as an on-ball defender and screen navigator.
