Brayden Burries
Wagler is a tall combo guard who plays at his own pace. His deep range and off-the-dribble three-point shooting set up the rest of his offensive game, giving him the ability to take over games from beyond the arc. His passing vision and overall feel for the game stand out on tape, and he can impact the game on and off the ball offensively. The biggest concern with Wagler is his struggles to create space on drives, relying on craft to score around the rim.
Strengths:
Deep range and consistent release from three-point range.
Gets to his jumper well off the dribble, has a go-to step-back move to create separation for shots on the perimeter.
Rarely gets sped up when navigating through traffic, crafty player off two feet in the paint who plays stronger than his frame might suggest.
Strong passing vision with the ability to unlock unique passing angles given his height for a guard.
Rebounds the ball well on both ends for a guard.
Weaknesses:
Lacks high-level burst off the dribble which can lead to stalled drive attempts.
Can get knocked off his driving lane when met with physical defense.
Not the twitchiest finisher around the basket, relying more on drawing contact to get to the free-throw line or finishing through length rather than over it.
Lack of length and high-end athleticism limits his ceiling as a defender.
