Cameron Boozer
Boozer is a physically dominant forward prospect with 3-level scoring potential and high level feel for the game. His scoring starts inside the arc, where he uses his pro-ready frame and impressive footwork to score in the post. In his freshman season, Boozer showed the ability to stretch the floor as a pick and pop threat, make plays off short roll actions, and attack mismatches off the dribble. On the defensive end, he has room to grow as a rim protector but moves his feet exceptionally well in space for a player his size. If Boozer continues to grow as a ball-handler, we could be looking at one of the more versatile forwards in the NBA.
Strengths:
Plays well through contact and uses his strength, footwork, and array of post moves to create quality looks near the basket..
Effective shooter from three-point range who thrives as a pick-and-pop big man.
Can create offense from the top of the key as a ball handler. Comfortable coming off ball screens and attacking downhill.
Moves his feet well when guarding on the perimeter and projects as a switchable defender.
Rebounds well on both ends by utilizing his frame and positioning.
Capable of making high level passing reads and an unselfish offensive player overall.
Weaknesses:
Can be loose with the ball when dribbling in traffic.
Relies on contested shots in the mid-range area when his drives get cut off.
Moments of shooting inconsistency, missing jumpers to the left or right.
Struggles to create separation on drives at times, relying on overpowering or shooting over defenders.
