Dailyn Swain
Swain is a tall wing with a smooth offensive game and legit two-way upside. His ball-handling for a player his size is impressive, which helps him get downhill and create offense at the rim and in the mid-range. Swain is a gifted slasher who has the athleticism to elevate in traffic but can also play off two feet and use his body to carve out space for shots. Defensively, he has long arms and moves well laterally, giving him a high ceiling as a wing defender. He is still developing as an outside shooter, but showed improvements from deep in his junior season.
Strengths:
Uses his handle and size to get downhill and score at the rim. Not afraid of contact when driving.
Aggressive slasher who is a creative finisher around the basket.
Efficient scorer in isolation who has improved his off-the-dribble shooting, especially in the mid-range.
Strong rebounder who gets off the ground quickly.
Showed flashes of playing as a point forward with off-the-dribble passing and pick-and-roll reps.
Impressive tools on the defensive end with long arms and a strong frame. Has a knack for creating turnovers.
Weaknesses:
Still developing as a three-point shooter. Has slow shot mechanics and moments of inconsistency from deep
Saw an increase in turnovers when asked to take on more ball-handling, showing he can still improve as a decision-maker with the ball.
Has the tendency to gamble or get caught out of position when playing off-ball defense.
Will need to develop quicker catch-and-shoot mechanics to comfortably slide into an off-ball role in the NBA.
