Dylan Harper

Dylan Harper is a big guard with an advanced scoring repertoire. He’s a constant threat to attack the basket and has excellent touch around the rim. Harper got a ton of reps as a lead handler for Rutgers last season, which helped him develop his decision-making and reads. Harper has room to grow on the defensive end and will need to prove he can play away from the ball, but his positional size and natural feel for putting the ball in the basket make him the surefire #2 prospect in this draft.

Strengths:

  • Polished driver with a smooth handle and sturdy frame.

  • Advanced touch and creativity around the basket.

  • High upside as an on-ball scorer who can create his own shot off the dribble from three or inside the arc.

  • Efficient as both a pick and roll ball handler and on spot-up opportunities.

  • Flashed the ability to leverage his scoring to set up teammates for high percentage shots.

  • Adds value as a rebounder from the guard position

Weaknesses:

  • More of a below the rim finisher. Lacks high-level vertical pop around the rim.

  • Room for improvement as an on-ball defender.

  • Low jump shot release that can lead to flat arc and inconsistency from three point range.

  • Will need to become more of a consistent jump-shooter.
