Kingston Flemings
Flemings is a defense-first combo guard with impressive speed. On offense, Flemings uses his quick first step to attack on straight-line drives. He is also comfortable pulling up in the mid-range on a dime, where he gets impressive elevation to shoot over defenders. Flemings can apply rim pressure and collapse defenses, which opens up quality opportunities for teammates. Questions surrounding his potential as a three-point shooter and lack of touch around the rim are reasonable concerns from my view.
Strengths:
Athletic player with impressive burst off the dribble and in short areas.
Can stop on a dime and elevate over defenders in the mid-range area.
Strong point-of-attack defender with quick feet and hands
Leverages his rim pressure well to set up teammates for open shots.
Rebounds well for a guard and plays with an impressive motor on both ends of the floor.
Weaknesses:
Jump shot mechanics are a work in progress, leading to streaky shooting from three-point range.
Can play too fast off the dribble, leading to out-of-control drives.
Could improve his finishing in crowded paint, often takes off from too far or favors his right hand.
Not the most advanced ball handler, often looking to beat defenders with pure speed off the dribble.
