Morez Johnson Jr.

Johnson Jr. is one of the best rebounding prospects in the draft class, using his strength and quick jumping ability to clean the glass on both ends. He's got strong measurables to play big man at the next level, and utilizes his strength and length to make impact plays in the paint. Johnson's versatility on the defensive end is one of his greatest selling points, showing impressive foot speed and lateral quickness for a player his size, while also providing rim protection. His offensive game mainly comes off dump-down passes, putbacks, and scoring in the post. He has a limited sample as a jump shooter, but at least began to attempt more jumpers in his sophomore season.

Strengths:

  • Elite rebounder on both ends who gets off the ground quick and can carve out space with strong box outs.

  • High ceiling on the defensive end with an impressive blend of foot speed, strenght, and rim portectoin.

  • Strong footwork and touch in the post. Plays well off two feet.

  • Relentless motor and does “the little things”. Sets solid screens, runs the floor hard, and has a nose for loose balls.

Weaknesses:

  • Still developing as a floor spacer, doesnt have a large sample of jump shot attempts

  • Not a player who will create much of his own offense given his lack of ball hanlding.

  • Limited flashes as a passer which limits his offensive verstiality.

  • Can be a bit clunky on the offensie end and stuggle to finish over NBA sized centers
