Rasheer Fleming
Fleming is a forward with impressive measurables and defensive playmaking. He uses his length to cause havoc on defense, whether it be in passing lanes or providing weak-side rim protection. On offense, Fleming uses his straight-line athleticism and bounce around the rim to finish off plays in transition, cutting in the halfcourt, or as a pick and roll big man. He made major improvements as a jump shooter in his junior season, which went hand in hand with his draft stock rising. With that being said, concerns about his switchability and creation upside are not to be overlooked.
Strengths:
Athletic defender with a feel for forcing turnovers and blocking shots.
Has made steady improvements as a jump shooter. Efficient from three point range on high volume in his junior season.
Runs well in transition and is a play finisher at the rim. Lob threat on cuts and rolls in a half court setting.
Filled out frame that will help him guard more physical forwards and big men in the NBA.
Doesn’t need the ball in his hands to impact winning given his defensive chops and comfortability spotting up, cutting, and attacking closeouts on offense.
Physical rebounding presence, specifically on the defensive end.
Weaknesses:
Lacks upside as an offensive creator given his limited ball-handling and off the dribble scoring.
Could improve his foot speed and lateral quickness on the defensive end in order to become more versatile guarding quicker wings.
Doesn’t provide much value as a passer. Projects as an off-ball forward for better or worse.
